Immaculate Italy – Part 2
Fantastic Florence – Hello All. The next destination was Florence and to describe this city in one sentence, its a simple, serene, small town which is a walkers paradise. The whole town except the Michelangelo Hill top view can be covered by foot. We arrived at Florence by 5 in the evening and I must say, this tops the best evenings we have spent so far. Elegant square, Italian cuisine in a romantic candle light, hazy weather – Heaven. The next day we spent roaming around the city by foot covering all its attractions. The best part was the shopping of this town especially for Italian leather handbags. Guys on their romantic trips here – puff up your wallet 🙂
Venice – Our final 2 days of Italy trip was this water city. A perfect spot for couples. We were awestruck to see this wonderful city at first. Every thing we would have seen on land was on water in here. Water bus, Water Police, Water Ambulance, Cruise Restaurant etc. We stayed in an island near Venice called Giudecca in a sea view room of a hotel. We roamed around that evening to find a perfect spot for our Italian dinner but to our disappointment, all restaurants were booked. That’s when we did something in our Indian style. We saw a Pizza take away. I rushed into the shop and bought 2 medium pizzas. Just like how we eat in our street shops of India, we had our pizza the other day at the outdoors, sitting and facing the sea with our foot on the water. The next day was Venice exploration by foot, Gondola ride, Rialto bridge, Bell tower, Murano glasses, Venice Masks souvenir shops and so on. This wonderful city is not just a one time watch and a definite repeat one.
Thus, a wonderful 5 day trip of ours came to an end with this romantic getaway. ITALY, one of the best holiday spots of Europe and a lot of attractions to cover. The best part was the cleanliness throughout (except for the Venice waters) and hence was this title to my blog.
