Travel Blog – Spectacular Scotland – Part 2
Exotic Edinburgh. Small city with scenic hills and castle at one side, shore and breeze the other side. One of my favorite city and according to me the best city to live. Its a city but no big rush. Its partly a country side but not too calm. Its not the top commercial city but stands medium. Airport or Train station or Bus station – all within reach.
As a welcome to the visitors, many scotsman in kilt blow the bagpipe near the hilly castle and its so pleasant. The castle is like the heart of the city around which the city has developed. Its majestic and iconic.
Calton Hill and Arthur seat – small and medium high hills respectively are not only scenic but also a walkers paradise.
Walk on the Royal Mile (street that leads to the castle) will educate the Scot history to any visitor visually. Lot of souvenir shops, whiskey museum etc.
No big malls but in a typical European style there is a shopping street called Princess Street which holds almost all top brand shops and restaurants.
Other attraction include the Portobello beach – a small shored beach with cool breeze and Cramaond island – a small land side which is only visible on a low tide time.
As a traveler, this historic city needs an easy 2 days for a full cover up. JR, a friend of mine who is a small time photographer became a fan this city and has a special place in his photo works for Edinburgh. The photos seen in this blog are his clicks.
